The gender equality commissioner reportedly asked the attorney-general to look into whether the management of a Limassol art gallery serving sushi off the body of a naked woman had committed any offences.
According to Politis, Iosifina Antoniou said the act offended public decency, asking the attorney-general for his opinion.
Antoniou told Politis radio 107.6 that the image of a woman acting as a tray was shameful, because she was effectively replacing an object.
The theme of the exhibition last Friday was the naked body. After viewing the artwork, exhibited in various mediums, punters were treated to champagne and sushi from the body of a naked woman who was lying down on a table.
The photos were posted on the internet and quickly sparked outrage among social media users.
